Styling the Adidas Superstars

Hey guys! Watch my new video on YouTube on how I style my favorite sneakers at the moment: the Adidas Superstars from Urban Outfitters. They're so comfortable and easy to put on for any casual every day look. I've been wearing them everywhere I go. I put together three quick and easy outfits to wear with these shoes. I hope you guys enjoy! ↞ Click here to watch!

Summer Strolls

Blouse | Charlotte Russe     Shorts | American Apparel     Sandals | Steve Madden     Sunglasses | Forever 21

Here's a quick outfit of the day on a day out today. I went out to lunch with my friend, Vanessa (nessyfawn) and my sister in Downtown Los Angeles and had a quiet, chill day. The Arts District is lovely and filled with beautiful cafes and lounges to relax in after walking in the sun. Take a look at what I like to do on a chill day off in my newest VLOG on YouTube!

My Perfect Date Outfit

What would you wear on a first date?
Jacket | Zara     Top | American Eagle     Jeans | Zara     Sandals | ROMWE

So let's say for some reason, Danica gets a date! Haha, I know right? But for the sake of this post, let's just say this is a hypothetical situation. So what's the first thing on her mind? Well I'll tell you the first thing that comes to mind. It's "Oh shit, oh shit. What do I WEAR?"

I have prepared my perfect first date outfit. A look that is effortless, simple, comfortable, and classy. I don't want to wear something too extravagant that would overwhelm my date. I have this thing about LOOKING compatible with my date. Since I'm not much of a dress girl, jeans are my go-to. So let's say for the date, we'll be going out for dinner. I don't want to go with a t-shirt since that's too casual, so I went for a thin collared top that's flowy and comfortable cause face it: If I'm going out to eat, I don't want to be in something tight.

I've got my jeans. I've got my shirt. Half way there! Since it's dinner time, it's night time. So it's probably chillier out now. Naturally, I'm going to grab my leather jacket. It's classic. It's sexy. And it gives me some edge because I don't want to look too innocent, right?

Last step. Shoes. I usually wear boots. But for a date, I don't think that's the direction I want to head towards. I want to be comfortable but I want some height, so I'll wear some plain strap sandals with a chunky heel to give me that desired height that I ALWAYS want. The straps are open and classy. I love these heels because they're perfect for a small dinner date or a casual lunch date.

And WALA! I'm dressed and ready to go.

Baggy Look

Blazer | UO      Culottes | F21       Sneakers | F21       Bag | Matt & Natt       Necklace | F21       Belt | thrifted

Hello everyone! I'm back with a quick baggy look. This look turned out to look a bit more boyish than I intended, but I'm totally fine with it. Quite simply, I will always love an all black outfit, so this outfit was easily put together in literally one minute. My favorite part of the outfit is my pair of platform sneakers, which are my secret weapon to sneaking in some height without wearing obvious heels. Next in line to the platform sneakers is my Matt & Natt shoulder bag in nude which gives just the right amount of color to my all black outfit. If you follow me on my personal tumblr, (grumpy-garcon.tumblr.com) then you'd know that I've been reblogging a lot of girls in suits and blazers. I am absolutely in love with that look at the moment and I've been dying to put together a masculine outfit similar to the ones I've been seeing. Here are some examples of what inspired this look:

I hope you guys enjoyed this look and let me know how you'd style any of these pieces! Lemme know if you'd like to see anything else in the future, whether it be a YouTube video or an article!

Update

Dan, where have you been?
Hey guys! So I thought I'd do a quick little update since I feel so bad for not posting recently. Basically, I just got swamped with school work. This semester has been my hardest one yet and I'm really trying to be a better student. I've made plans to post a lot more but I haven't gotten around to posting yet because everything has been rushed, and I'd rather take more time into posting quality photos than rush a post that I'm not happy with. I've been doing a lot of thinking, and I really haven't been one hundred percent proud of what I've been posting. I want to put more effort into posting better quality photos and videos for you guys and for myself. I want to be proud of myself too. So I have one more week left in this semester and I'm really going to focus on my classes for that week. Then as summer comes, I'll be focusing my time on blogging and youtube again. I'm really excited for it, because I've missed this! Wish me luck on exams, and good luck to you guys who are in the same boat! Kick ass in school, ya'll! See you soon. xx

Styling Culottes

Cool Weather

Warm Weather

Top | Brandy Melville     Culottes | Forever 21     Boots | H&M     Belt | thrifted     Coat | Forever 21   Hat | Brandy Melville

Hello lovely people! One trend that I've been really loving when it comes to street style is the culottes. Culottes are basically just trouser pants that are hemmed a little bit longer than the knee. This style is very 60's-80's-esque and I love that it's a huge trend that has been rising today. The moment I started seeing bloggers and fashionistas wearing culottes, I fell in love. This is quite rare for me because I tend to dislike new trends when they first start arising. I have to give myself time to get a taste of the trend and try it out for myself to see if it works for me. Then I end up deciding either it's not for me, or I'm all for it! But the culottes caught my eye instantly and I totally decided I was for it immediately. I had been wanting to buy a pair for ages, but the only pairs I could find were a bit out of my budget range. After much patience, I went into Forever 21 one day not even looking for a pair of culottes! But after lots of digging around the new collections, I found somewhere hidden in a rack, ONE pair of black culottes, in my size. This is a rare occasion for me so I definitely was planning to buy them no matter what the price was. When I looked at the tag, the price said $4.99. That's right, people. $5! For a new pair of perfect culottes. I checked every inch of it. Maybe there was something wrong with seaming or maybe there was a sewed up rip, but there was nothing wrong with them. They just happened to be a hidden sale item. Long story short, I found a pair of black culottes for $5. Go to Top Shop and the same pair would be at least $80. Mind you, I'm aware of the differences in quality. I'm all about investing in better quality material rather than spending less to get a dupe with horrible quality material. But this pair was fairly great material and I know it'll be durable for a long time.

So I styled these culottes in two ways. One for a colder day and one for a warmer day! It's simple enough. If you couldn't tell already, all I did to the outfit was throw a coat over it / add a floppy hat to it. The outfit that I styled can easily be transformed into a night out in a (mildly) chilly city or out shopping on a spring day. I hope you enjoy this outfit! I'll probably incorporate these culottes in a future haul video IF you guys would like to see a haul video in the future. Let me know!

See you in my next post!
